Earlier this month Sam and I finished early on a Friday and made our way into Bristol for a rare but well deserved date night as we had been invited to try the new menu at Chophouse Restaurant at Future Inns Bristol. I’d previously worked with The Chophouse for a “Bristol Bloggers” evening earlier in the year so it was nice of them to invite me back to try their new menu.
Our table was booked for 6:30pm and we arrived into Bristol a little early so we had a wander around the Bristol Christmas Market first. We couldn’t resist one of the “Chocolate Kisses” (gooey marshmallow covered in chocolate) but had to stop there as we were aware we didn’t want to ruin our evening meal. We quickly made our way back to the restaurant before we got carried away.
Chophouse Restaurant is right next to Cabot Circus Car Park making getting there and access so simple, they will even validate your parking ticket giving you 50% off parking if eating in the restaurant.
There is both a set menu and an a la carte menu available at Chophouse restaurant which have both recently been relaunched with new dishes available and old dishes re-imagined. I was so pleased to see the Sticky Toffee Pudding back on the menu – this was my favourite when I visited in September.
I started with the Mezze Platter. A vegetarian platter of olives, garlic, roasted vegetables, salsa, pitta bread and houmous and could have easily eaten this and left the restaurant. It was delicious and for £7 it was such good value. This would be an ideal dish to have along with a drink if you didn’t feel up to a whole meal. Sam had nachos with a three bean chilli which I happily shared with him. I definitely didn’t influence his decision at all there…
For the main course I went with fish and chips. As I always do. It’s one of my favourite things to eat out so I always treat myself when I see it on the menu. It was delicious and the chips were lovely and crispy. The only thing I would change would be to have mushy peas instead of garden peas but that may just be me. Sam had “Char-grilled” chicken with he thoroughly enjoyed.
As I mentioned above, I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert and it was just as good this time as I remember it was in September. I would go back to Chophouse Restaurant again and again and again just for this dessert. Sam went for the Apple Pie with Ice Cream and as great as it was, I would chose the Sticky Toffee Pudding every. single. time.
Thanks for having us Chophouse Restaurant!
