One thing I get asked for a lot and I keep saying I’m going to type up is my Homemade Potato Wedges recipe. So when Schwartz got in touch wanting to collaborate on a post I thought this was the perfect opportunity as their Paprika has long been my go-to for this recipe.
I started making Homemade Potato Wedges while attempting to cut down on pre-packaged foods early last year. I can safely say I have never reached for a bag of frozen wedges since. And you won’t either after seeing how simple but delicious these are. You should know by know that I like to keep my recipes as simple as possible as I want to encourage as many people as I can to cook from scratch more often. I love perfecting my recipes on my favourite “freezer treats” and can never wait to share them with you.
Homemade Potato Wedges Ingredients:
Serves 2
2 large potatoes
1 tbsp Schwartz Paprika
1/4 tsp Organic Yellow Mustard Powder
1 tbsp sunflower oil or Low Calorie Spray Oil
Salt and pepper
Method:
Preparation: 5 minutes | Cooking: 30-45 minutes
1. Wash the potatoes and slice into “wedges”. These are best with the skin left on. Preheat the oven to 220c (200c fan).
2. Add the wedges to a pan of boiling water and cook for 10 minutes until they start to soften. This will ensure they’re cooked thoroughly in the oven.
3. Drain the water and return to the pan. Stir in the paprika and the oil and season with salt and pepper. Make sure the wedges are evenly coated with the paprika and oil, add more if necessary. The more paprika that’s added the more flavour they will have, they can get quite spicy though so be careful not to add too much if you’re not keen on spice.
4. Place the wedges onto a baking tray. Make sure they are not overlapping/on top of each other. Lightly coat with spray oil and season with salt and pepper if necessary. Put them in the centre of the oven for 30 minutes, checking and turning half way through.
Enjoy…
I had mine with a spicy bean burger and a small salad today but other ways I’ve been enjoying them recently are topped with chilli for a wedges/nacho feast or call me crazy but I’ve also been loving dipping them in my homemade soups or guacamole. Does anyone else do the same?

Oh we make our own wedges all the time, and yes we use paprika too! We got an air fryer a couple of years ago and those are a GAME CHANGER for crisping up the wedges beautifully!
Ami says
Ah I’m so desperate for an air fryer, I’ll have to put one on my Christmas list!

Potatoes are so much more delicious when they are cooked with the skin on. I always make the fresh and they turn out really nice and tasty , crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside.
Ami says
Aren’t they just! I wouldn’t have them any other way now.
