At this time of year, being a foodie, I get so excited about the different Food Advent Calendars available. Every year there are more and more. From luxury chocolate to marzipan, even cheese and wine. When Sous Chef got in touch about working with them over the festive season I was eager to show off some of the Food Advent Calendars they have available for 2019.
Sous Chef is a website for chefs and cooks, both amateur and professional stocking ingredients, cookware as well as being able to shop by cuisine or technique such as sushi making, pasta making or home brewing. They also stock many gifts for foodies including cookbook and ingredient sets, hampers and tasting selections, as well as many Food Advent Calendars around this time of year.
Fudge is one of my guilty pleasures so I could not resist the Buttermilk Fudge Advent Calendar for myself this year. Filled with 25 days worth of traditional Cornish fudge. There are many different flavours including mince pie, hot chocolate, gingerbread and sea salt. December is going to be a great month).
I surprised my fiancé with the Lakrids Liquorice Advent Calendar. I’m not a huge fan of liquorice myself but Sam loves it so I knew this would go down well with him. This one is filled with many different flavours of liquorice to take you through the month of December – including chocolate, raspberry and coffee. Also both the plastic and the card are made from recycled materials.
As well as these two, Sous Chef have many other Food Advent Calendars available including the Mozart Marzipan Advent Calendar filled with the finest German marzipan as well as hazelnut praline and coffee cream truffles. They also stock the Francois Doucet Provence Confectionery Advent Calendar which looks divine. This one is filled with classic French treats including sugar-coated fruit jellies and crunchy caramelised nut pralines.
The calendars range in price from £12.99 to £35.95 – a bit more spendy than you’re usual chocolate advent calendar but definitely a gift that keeps on giving throughout the month. There’s nothing better than a sweet treat alongside your morning tea or coffee. I can’t wait for December to begin now.
Have any Food Advent Calendars caught your eye this year?

They are a bit pricey, but looks like they’re worth it.
Ami says
The fudge one is amazing value at £14.95, I agree the liquorice one is more expensive but good quality liquorice is so worth it!
