Last weekend Sam and I finished work and headed into Bristol for a rare Friday night date night as we we’re kindly invited to experience the Turtle Bay Bristol Summer Soundclash. The Summer Soundclash has been happening at Turtle Bay Restaurants around the UK throughout the Summer. Starting at Brixton in July and ending in Chemsford in August. Featuring a late-night party on Friday nights, Bottomless Brunch with unlimited Sunshine Bellini’s on Saturday’s and Live DJs and 2’4’1 Cocktails on Sundays.
We arrived at 6:30pm which was still happy hour so started on the cocktails right away. Making the most of 2’4’1′ Cocktails. Happy “Hour” is from 11:30am – 7pm daily and then starts back up again at 9:30/10pm until close. We both have similar tastes when it comes to drinks so both went for a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri which took me right back to our engagement celebrations and a Raspberry Reggae which consisted of Dark Rum, Raspberries, Lime and Lemonade and was one of the best Cocktails I’ve ever had.
It was then time to order our food. We decided to skip starters, hoping to leave room for dessert, but couldn’t resist the 4 for £10 offer of sides so ended up having quite a bit for the main course. I went for the Island Budda Bowl for my main and Sam had the Shack Stack Burger. For our sides we picked Halloumi Fries, Pulled Jerk Chicken, Mac ‘n’ Cheese and Cheesy Jerk Spiced Fries. The Mac ‘n’ Cheese was incredible, made even better with the Encona Jerk BBQ Sauce they had on the table. I also would happily sit with a portion (or ten) of the Halloumi Fries! I couldn’t believe how many sides were on the menu – there must have been about 30.
Although we we’re both very full, I can never resist a dessert menu. Especially when it contains a “Banana Toffee Cheesecake” and a “Chilli Chocolate Brownie”. Again Sam and I are very similar when it comes to dessert so we ordered one of each to share. I preferred the Cheesecake but they we’re both absolutely delicious.
We stayed for a little while after our meals to enjoy the live music and then left with full bellies. Thank you to Turtle Bay Bristol for having us, we had such a lovely evening!
Have you attended any of the Summer Soundclash events? What is your favourite thing to order at Turtle Bay?
Until next time,
