As much as I try and be organised, I’m always so last minute when it comes to events like Mother’s Day. I think I have a lot more time than I do then suddenly it’s a few days away and I end up rushing around the shops, struggling to think of ideas for something personal to my Mum that she would really like. Mother’s Day is Sunday 27th March this year and I’ve worked with Boots to create this Mother’s Day Gift Guide to give you some ideas as alternatives to flowers and a box of chocolates. Whether your Mum is a beauty queen, fitness enthusiast or a homebody, Boots will have the perfect gifts for her.
Skincare is always a safe option. A budget friendly brand is The Ordinary Skincare, starting at less than £5.00, or you can use the opportunity to buy something a little more luxury that your Mum would probably not buy for herself such as Kiel’s Midnight Recovery. Boots also stock skincare starter sets such as the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Starter Set or this set by La Roche Posay. Sets are often the best value for money, this No7 set is worth over £150 bought separately but is on sale for just £40.
Beauty tools such as the Botanics Rose Quartz Gua Sha or the Kitsch Jade Crystal Facial Roller would also be perfect for a skincare enthusiast.
If your Mum is a fitness fanatic, whether she’s into walking, running or lifting weights, the Joules Insulated Water Bottle pictured above would be a great accompaniment. My Mum is a keen walker and I think this lunchbox would make a great gift too – and it can be personalised, along with many other items on the Boots website. The Boots Extracts Shea Hand Cream will come in handy for a lover of the outdoors.
If your Mum is more of a homebody, there is nothing more perfect than some candles and a face mask for a cosy night in. Yankee Candles are always my go-to and each year they do a Mother’s Day selection. The 2022 pack contains a large jar candle, two smaller jar candles, three votives and a pack of twelve tealights. It’s currently on offer for £26 and the large jar candles cost more than that alone. Such a great deal! When I gift face masks I usually buy sheet masks instead of a single pot/tube, this way you can gift a few different ones. They start from as little as £1 and Simple and Garnier are my favourite budget friendly options.
Last year my Mum asked for a new mascara so I bought her the Benefit “Bad Gal Bang” Mascara. I find Benefit to be one of the best beauty brands for gifting as they do so many different sets with huge savings. They currently have this set of three mini mascaras for £21 which is a great saving as they’re usual £13 each.
Boots have put together this selection of Mother’s Day Gifts which has everything from beauty, skincare and perfume to fitness and electrical products if you need some more ideas. I hope this Mother’s Day Gift Guide has given you some inspiration.
Until next time,
Ami x
