I’ve always said I’m not very good at making my house a home. I can decorate it, add furniture, mess around with things that really don’t need to be messed with but I’m so bad at those finishing touches. Adding some personalisation, photos, ornaments etc. Other people will disagree but I know I needed something to make it that little bit less “showhomey”. Especially now having Arthur – I want it to feel like home for him. This is where Photowall have come to the rescue. Photowall are a company that sell thousand of prints in a range of sizes and allow you to get your own photos printed too.
I knew I wanted to get a photo of Arthur printed as we have no photos of him anywhere so we’ve put this gorgeous photo of him at the top of our stairs. It’s one of my favourites and Arthur points to it and says “baby” every time we walk up the stairs – I don’t think he realises it’s him! I’ve also got a couple of little photos printed to fill some empty frames dotted about the house.
We were desperate for a photo or two for above our bed as the wall looked so bare. I couldn’t chose between having a few photos or one big one but in the end went for this beachy, tidal print that matches the colour scheme of the room. I didn’t want something too busy and to me this is very relaxing. It finishes off our room perfectly. It’s quite neutral too so if we do change the colour scheme of the room at any point I feel it’ll work with anything.
I also got a couple of smaller prints to put around the house and fill the bare walls, including this print to go above Arthur’s high chair (although I was very tempted by the hangry print) and got a nice gift for someone too. I love having these few photos and now I’m scanning the website for which ones I want to buy next. I’m eying up a couple of the monochrome prints for our bathroom and I’d love to have a motivational quote above the stairs so I see it when I walk downstairs in the morning. There’s nothing better that a motivational quote to get you ready for the day.
Photowall offer framed and unframed prints if you have your own frames to fill. I went for the framed and it was so easy to put the photos in the frames (some needed a tiny bit of trimming) and get them on the walls. Frames come in Black, White or Oak and various different sizes.
Do you have any photos you’re planning on having printed? I feel these Photowall prints make such a difference to our house!
Until next time,
Ami x
