My journey to live a more sustainable lifestyle has seen me ditch makeup wipes and cotton pads and even saw me using cloth nappies for my newborn son but was yet to make it’s way to period products. I’d been considering sustainable period products for a while, cups, reusable sanitary towels etc, but I’m so bad at actually getting around to ordering something. I was over the moon when WUKA got in touch recently to see if I wanted to trial their newly released WUKA Stretch Period Pants and I couldn’t wait to give them a go.
The WUKA Stretch Period Pants come in just TWO sizes but are a one size fits all. They come in size XS-L and XL-4XL (UK Sizes 6-22). They come in Nude or Black, Midi or High Waist, Medium or Heavy Flow and you can buy them in packs of 1, 3 or 5. Prices start from £13.99 and there’s currently 25% off. Each pack comes with a free laundry bag to make washing even more simple.
The microfibre elasticated material is so flattering on my stomach and so comfortable. Period aside these make incredible shapewear. I’m luckily blessed with light, short periods but the WUKA Stretch Period Pants hold the equivalent of 2-3 pads or 4 tampons worth. How incredible is that? They can be worn for up to 12 hours but WUKA recommend changing them every 8 hours. I managed a whole 8 hour work day in mine and then changed them when I got home.
Washing is so simple – just pop them into the supplied mesh laundry bag and put them on a cold wash or handwash. No need to rinse. I couldn’t believe how simple it was. I left them to dry on the airier as I normally do with underwear in the Winter.
The WUKA Stretch Period Pants last for up to 2 years and they recommend having 5-7 pairs. As well as the Seamless Stretch they also have other styles such as Hipster, Thongs and Boxers as well as lace and print designs. There is also a Period Swimsuit, Bikini and Sport Shorts.
Do you use reusable period products? How do you find them?
