One of our goals this year is to explore more in our Campervan and attend some more festivals around the local area with our two boys. Arthur loves exploring in the Campervan and we want to make the most of some of the events we have right on our doorstep. We’ve been to a few of the festivals before and I have some more in depth write ups that I’ll link to within this post but there are also a few Bristol Festivals that we’ll be attending for the first time this year or looking into booking. I’d also love to hear any more local recomendations, especially family friendly ones.
One of my favourite local family festivals is Valley Fest. I’ve been for the day a couple of times but yet to stay over but I’m hoping we can do this this year. This is a Food and Music Festival, family friendly with gorgeous views across the Chew Valley Lake.
There is also Soul Circus Yoga Festival. I’ve never attended this one with children but it’s meant to be a really nice family friendly festival. Arthur really enjoys having a go at Yoga and there’s always some fab workshops for children.
CarFest is another, about an hours drive from Bristol but it’s always worth it. They have some good acts on (I loved McFly a couple of years ago). Sam Ryder, UB40 and The Feeling have been announced so far this year.
Not a festival as such but the Balloon Fiesta is not to be missed. It’s a free entry 4 day event. Over the recent years there has been the option to camp in the field opposite so I’m tempted to look into this this year as we end up spending a fortune on parking going back and forth into Bristol for the morning and evening assents. There’s always some great food vendors at the Balloon Fiesta too.
Love Saves The Day is a classic Bristol Festival although this is an over 18s festival. I haven’t been to this one since my teenage years. I’m sure there are many more too. There are usually a couple of Food Festivals we enjoy going to for the day, as well as the Bristol Harbour Festival which is another free event you could make a weekend out of if you wanted.
Which Bristol Festivals will you be attending this year? I’d love to hear your local recomendations.
